How to Photograph Vehicle Damage for a Preliminary Estimate

Photos can help Omega Collision Center start reviewing visible vehicle damage before an in-person inspection. A few clear images, along with your vehicle details, give our team a useful starting point. A photo review is preliminary: inspection or teardown may reveal additional damage and change the repair scope or price.

Take three useful photos

  1. A wider view: Show the damaged area and the surrounding body panels so the location is clear.
  2. A close-up: Capture the visible dent, crack, scrape or paint damage.
  3. Another angle: Show the same area from a different position to help explain its shape and extent.

Use clear lighting and check that the images are in focus before uploading. Take photos only from a safe, accessible position. Do not stand in traffic, remove parts or move an unsafe vehicle just to get a better photo.

Include your vehicle and contact details

Provide the vehicle year, make and model, a short description of the damage, and the best way to contact you. Tell us whether the vehicle is drivable and whether you need help coordinating rental transportation. If you are working with an insurer, you can identify the company and the current claim status in the request form.

The form offers a preferred contact method. Include an email address if you want us to follow up by email. A preferred estimate date is a request until the shop confirms it.

Upload the file formats the form accepts

You can attach up to three optional damage photos, up to 10 MB each. The estimate form accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG and WebP files. If your phone saves pictures as HEIC, save a JPG copy before uploading. You can still request an estimate without photos.

What happens after you send your request?

Our team reviews requests and follows up during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific time. Requests received after hours are reviewed when the shop reopens. We may ask for more information or discuss an in-person inspection.

Submitting the form does not confirm an appointment, authorize repairs or establish a final repair price. Photos do not show every component behind a damaged panel, and their appearance does not establish whether a vehicle is safe to drive.
